Blog-Keeping » Fashion-ing Posts
I just finished adding pretty much the entire Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture collection to my pinterest and it occurs to me that that’s not quite the point of the site. It almost feels like I’m spamming the place, especially since all my own pins show up in my feed so I can see exactly the bulk that I’m putting there. Maybe I’m wrong? Regardless, I’m sort of getting sick of aimlessly putting up images with no real analysis or contribution–what I like or dislike about various collections/pieces, and why. Pretty pictures are all well and good, but ultimately they become ubiquitous, and consequently boring.
I initially intended The Story category as a place to post the extra-super-fashion-y things that I love & sometimes like to expound upon–editorials, runway shows, collection presentations–which present fashion through some sort of unifying narrative, and I’d like to get back to it. Or something like that. Right now I just want to talk about all the recent shows & collections (Resort 2013! Fall 2012 Couture! Menswear!) that I’m really into, and probably also a few that I’m not. I haven’t quite figured out my approach for these posts: reviews vs round-ups; lines vs themes; all the images or just a few; each of these or none of them or some other as-yet-un-thought-of manner of organization and presentation. As with most things, it looks like I’m just going to wing it.
Thanks for sitting here while I think my thoughts in type. I’ll do my best to justify those 48 seconds of your life.
Why not share the love?
