If you hang out with me on Instagram, you’re already aware that I am the kind of person who wears the same things over and over (and photographs them, over and over–perhaps not a recommendation after all, eh?). I’m actually that way about almost everything: systems, formulas, protocols and patterns really work for me.* Hence, the constant presence of these TOMS ballet flats; they’ve basically become my go-to shoe that I slip on whenever I don’t know what to wear/am running out the door/my feet get cold. Not even kidding. Thus far I’ve only worn them with jeans, but they look so good that I’m not even worried about how they’ll do with skirts, shorts, and capris as the weather warms up. Rather, I think I’m going to a need a few (dozen) more pairs.**
*I believe the familiar term is “compulsive?” With an equal dose of enthusiasm, of course.
**FIT NOTE: I am a pretty reliable 8.5 in women’s shoes, and have worn size 8.5 in all of my previous pairs of original-style TOMS; however, I went down a half-size–to an 8–for these shoes. I tried my usual 8.5 and it felt too long and slipped on my heel; the 8 initially felt as though it might be a bit large as well, so I did try a 7.5, but there was NO way my foot was going to go along with that. I recommend trying on a few sizes in this shoe to find the best fit: your usual TOMS size, and at least a half-size smaller.
